| If you planning to visit Ponta Delgada my advise is that you park your car away from the city and take public transportation to go in the city, because it is not that far to get from A to B and you will enjoy more the city if you walk all the way, it is really a wander. |

| Joao Paulo II Airport is the busiest airport in the Azores Autonomous Region. Located on the archipelago's largest island, it is less than 3 km from downtown Ponta Delgada. Regular air services link it to all the islands of the archipelago, with the main airports in the mainland (Lisbon and Oporto), Funchal, Frankfurt and some cities in the USA and Canada. Flight information can be obtained in the terminal by checking the various flight information boards, or else by phone. |
