Armacao de Pera is best known as the town which boasts an abundance of tuna and sardines. Local fishermen crowd the beach area as they engage in their daily duties of supplying the town's restaurants with fresh fish.
The town features gorgeous beaches with long stretches of beautiful white sand and warm water. It has become one of the greatest tourist attractions of Portugal. |

Museu Arqueologico de Silves - The originated in 1990 and contains vast collections of items dating from the Roman, Moorish and Portuguese periods of the 17th century.
Castelo de Silves - The castle was constructed during the 12th and 13th centuries and offers the most amazing views of the city.
Igreja da Misericordia de Silves - The church was originally built during the 16th century, however the interior of the church contains significant changes which where were exacuted during the 18th century. It features a painting dating back to 1727, which depicts the Visitation.
Se Catedral de Silves - The cathedral was constructed during the 13th century. The church is built out of red sandstone, which is native to Silves and features mainly Gothic style architecture.
Torreao das Portas da Cidade - The site consists of a watch tower which was once part of the city walls. It offers gorgeous views of the city. |
