Useful Tips |
| Safety - by Peter Watling from Surrey UK |
| Assume all other drivers are learners with poor road sense and awareness, incapable of judging safe stopping distances, totally selfish believing the road belongs to them. Check your life insurance cover. |
| Speed limit - by hussen from uk/portuguese |
| Avoid racing with portuguese drivers, they can make you get in real trouble. Portugal is one of the worst countries to drive regarding speed, no care for other drivers, maniacs some of them. And i'm Portuguese. |

Portugal Overview |
The beautiful Mediterranean country of Portugal borders with Spain and has a long western coastline which looks out onto the sea. Portugal is blessed by great weather all year round but this is only one of several reasons that this country is such a popular destination.
Portugal’s different regions each have their own individual style and there are many differences between the north and the south of the country. Particularly popular with tourists are the beach resorts and golf courses of the Algarve but throughout Portugal there are great cities and sensational countryside to be found. |

Lisbon – The capital of Portugal is a passionate city with great zest and atmosphere. Situated by the Rio Tejo in the south of the country Lisbon is full of culture and visually appealing with great architecture. Of the many attractions Lisbon has to offer its museums and art galleries are of particular interest.
Porto – Porto, the capital of the north, is a hard working and down to earth city but it is by no means boring. Porto has incredible architecture throughout with some fantastic structures and buildings. The city also has some of the best nightlife in Portugal with many fantastic bars and restaurants.
Lagos – Situated on the beautiful southern coast of the Algarve, Lagos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Portugal. It is hardly surprising as it boasts incredible beaches and some great cultural attractions such as the Museu Municipal.
